NORTHEAST PREMIER BASEBALL LEAGUE - WEEK 3 NEWS!

APRIL 25TH, 2025

Firecracker Sports is coming to you with another update out of our Northeast Premier Baseball League! We hope you’ve all been enjoying the beautiful days we’ve recently seen throughout New England, whether it be on or off the field. We know that we’re all glad to (hopefully) be done with any early poor weather, as we continue to push into the Spring season. With over 70 NPBL games played this past week across all of our age divisions, it certainly was a busy few days of baseball! You can find score results for all games played across each division below, or you can catch them on our Instagram page (@firecrackerbaseball), where we post score recaps, player performances & POTG voting, highlight videos, and more!

Speaking of POTG voting, what better way to start off our Week 3 recap of games in the Northeast Premier Baseball League, than with some of the best performances and stat lines from individual players across each and every division of the NPBL! Each week, you can find our top POTG performances, along with fan voting, on our Instagram, just like all of our league game results. Below, you’ll find the top player performances sent in across all of our age groups, along with the “Champ of the Week” for each division. As we continue into the season, be sure to have coaches and parents send in any and all NPBL game results, along with a detailed player profile for potential player-of-the-game/Champ of the Week recognition. With that being said, let’s get into some of the most outstanding showings from last week, starting with our top performers in 9U!

NPBL 9U Division Week 3 Recap:

  • Kellan Malaguti: Kellan went 2-2 with 2 RBI and an intentional walk in a 10-0 victory for Southeast Elite over Maplewood Baseball.
  • Kade Doehler: Kade went 3-3 with a double and 3 RBI in the second matchup between Southeast Elite and Maplewood this past weekend, helping to supplement a 16-5 win.
  • Kingston D: Closing out our 9U players from last week, we’re finishing strong with our “Champ of the Week”, Kingston D. of CT Crush. In the first matchup between CT Crush and the Jr. Sox, Kingston went 3-3 with a home run and 5 RBI! Kingston’s incredible performance at the plate helped lift the Crush over the Sox 13-4.

NPBL 10U Division Week 3 Recap:

  • JJ Gaff: JJ had an outstanding day for Baseball U Mass., both on the mound and at the dish; he pitched a complete game, surrendering 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 12 batters. JJ helped himself too, going 1-2 with a double and 2 RBI in the 8-2 win over the Ocean State Outlaws.
  • Evan Giberson: Evan added to the offensive performance that CT Mayhem put on this weekend, going 2-3 with 4 RBI, 3 runs scored, and a walk, all in the Mayhem’s 19-10 win over CT Aces.
  • Adrian Parejo: This past weekend, Adrian truly had a stretch of games that earned him “Champ of the Week” honors for our 10U division. Across three games, Adrian had 5 hits, 3 RBI, and 7 runs scored. Aside from his contributions on offense, Adrian also pitched 3 shutout innings, giving up 4 hits while striking out 5!

NPBL 11U Division Week 3 Recap:

  • Ben Avila: Ben had an outstanding overall day, earning him POTG honors for the AF Bolts. In the Bolts 12-2 win over the Ocean State Outlaws (Jarvis), Ben threw a complete game, only surrendering one earned run on three hits, while fanning five batters. At the plate, Ben went 2-2 with 3 RBI, locking himself in for a personal spotlight.
  • Luke Lyman: Luke tore up the base paths for Brigade Baseball this past weekend; in their second game against the Ocean State Outlaws (Sailer), he went 2-3 with 2 RBI, 3 runs scored, and four stolen bases! No bag was safe while Luke was out there this past weekend…
  • Jonathan Hynes: Jonathan put on a pitching clinic for the RI Bandits as he took the mound on Saturday, April 19th, leading to his selection as the 11U Champ of the Week! Through four innings, Jonathan gave up a single hit, struck out seven batters, and successfully picked off three runners. His gem of a pitching performance helped carry the Bandits over Brigade Baseball in a tight 3-1 ballgame.

NPBL 12U Division Week 3 Recap:

  • Bryce Makela: Bryce had an absolutely outstanding day for Brigade Baseball, throwing for five innings and giving up just 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out ten batters. In addition to his commanding performance on the mound, Bryce had an equally strong (if not stronger) hand at the plate; over the weekend, he went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 7 RBI. Bryce’s impact was felt in both of these non-league games, both played against the AF Bolts.
  • Blake S.: Blake provided a strong and consistent bat, helping contribute to an even stronger win, going 3-3 with a double and 2 RBI in a 19-3 win for the Powerhouse Bulldogs – Gold over the CT Whalers.
  • Arav K.: Our 12U Champ of the Week for this past set of games is going to Arav K. of the CT Whalers. Arav went 3-4 with a home run and 6 RBI, all in a single matchup against the Powerhouse Bulldogs – Gold. The Whalers won this matchup against the Bulldogs 16-8, with Arav’s huge day at the plate acting as a large factor in the win.

NPBL 13U Division Week 3 Recap:

  • Kollin Gleeson: Across two games this past weekend, Kollin went 4-5 with a double, 3 RBI, 3 runs scored, and a stolen base. His performances for the CT Titans helped keep things close in a 6-6 tie against the CT Whalers, and he contributed in a high-scoring 15-14 loss to the Whalers as well.
  • Wes Wigglesworth: Wes earned previous POTG props a few weeks back, mainly for offensive contributions. This past week, he evened things out a bit, making the list based purely on a powerful pitching performance. Wes threw 4 spotless innings of baseball for the Berkshire Reign in a 10-0 win over the CT Moose. He finished the four-inning contest with zero hits surrendered, and nine strikeouts.
  • Liam DeSousa: Liam provided another highlight two-way day for the NPBL, earning himself the honor of Champ of the Week for his contributions in an 11-0 win for Maplewood Baseball over AF Bolts. Liam pitched 5 and ⅔ innings for Maplewood, with no runs allowed, and 12 Ks on the day. At the plate, Liam continued  to help himself and his team, going 2-3 with an RBI and a stolen base.

NPBL 14U Division Week 3 Recap:

  • Jayden Polito: Jayden pitched an unbelievable game for the CT Aces this past weekend, throwing a complete game shutout and striking out seven, helping pave the way to an intense 2-0 victory over the CT Moose. Runs are nice, but there’s nothing like a dominant pitching performance!
  • Anthony Malone: Anthony acted as a true difference-maker for the New England Jaguars in their 11-4 win over Southeast Elite; Anthony went 3-4 with an astounding 7 RBI in the contest, essentially padding his teams lead on his own.
  • Jack Piscottano: Last, but certainly not least, we have another player with a prior POTG shoutout. Jack didn’t receive the vote for Champ of the Week following his last nomination, but this time around he got the title, and for good reason; Jack threw a four-inning complete game shutout, gave up just one hit, and struck out six batters. Jack also contributed at the dish, as he went 2-3, legged out a triple, and knocked in 3 RBI for the CT Titans in a 15-0 win over 5 Star CT.
