Our interns are an integral part of the Firecracker Sports team – With many internships available, we provide students tremendous opportunities to learn, grow and gain a greater knowledge to what it is like having a career in the sports and entertainment business.
We provide a positive, fun, and enjoyable work environment and are interested in a variety of students who may be majoring in Sports/Entertainment/Event Management, Digital Marketing, Business Marketing, Data Analytics, Sports Communication and Video Production.

Paid Internship – Game Day Operations
About this Job:
Over the summer, Firecracker Sports hosts youth baseball and softball tournaments in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Interns, in their respective positions, travel with us to each of these locations to help give an impactful youth baseball tournament experience to everyone in attendance.
The Game Day Operations Supervisor and its related duties, are an outstanding and opportune way for students pursuing a career in the event and sports management field to learn new skills and gain the practical experience needed through this position to help jump start their career. Those who are selected into this internship are given a unique and front line perspective into the organization and logistics of hosting some of the largest youth baseball tournaments in the Northeast!
This program is ideal for students who are interested in Event/Sports Management Operations. Interns selected receive competitive compensation as well as free hotel accommodations during the course of their internship. (See below for further details.)

Requirements Include:
● A field of study in Event/Operations Management or Sports Management/Operations.
● Knowledge and passion for sports and/or the game of baseball/softball.
● Reliable automobile for travel to all tournament locations.
● Internship program schedule runs from May 20th – August 12th (Summer 2024)
● Willingness to stay overnight in hotels.
● Knowledge and understanding on how to score baseball/softball games.
● Must have the ability to post content on our social media platforms during games.
● Must be a self starter and have the ability to manage your time throughout the day.
● Need to have good communication skills with a friendly and professional disposition.
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
● Manage all aspects of the tournament at your assigned field to ensure everything runs smoothly. In many instances you will be the only person present from Firecracker Sports at your assigned field. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working 4 games per day, confirming the field is ready to play, taking initiative if needed to prep home plate and pitcher’s mound between each game if no field crew is present, confirming umpires and teams are on property at reasonable times prior to scheduled game times, making sure games start on time and making sure all games do not run over the 2 hour time limit rule.
● Keep the score using our Game Changer app and report the score via text messaging to the tournament director after each of the 4 baseball/softball games you are assigned to that day. Each pitch, play and substitution in the game is required to be recorded in the Game Changer app.
● Generate and post content and highlights from games to our social media platforms.
● Representing Firecracker Sports and presenting yourself in a professional manner at all times and with everyone you become connected with during the course of the tournament.
● Attend all Google Meets meetings throughout the internship period.
Pay, Benefits, Training and Future Contract/Employment Considerations:
● Compensation: $2,000 – $2,500 based upon location and experience (50% paid on June 28th and 50% + reimbursements paid on August 12th)
● Mileage/Meal Reimbursement of $100 per tournament (Paid on August 12th)
● Bonus: $500 (Paid on August 12th with no tournament absences)

Paid Internship – Business Marketing/Merchandise
About this Job:

The Business Marketing Intern will aid in increasing brand awareness through business marketing plans to better highlight the Firecracker Sports Company. Individuals should have an interest in business marketing, merchandise branding and a general understanding of the sports of baseball and/or softball.
Interns will gain valuable experience in working with administration, event operations to grow the overall company in business marketing plans, projects and website development as well. This internship offering will also concentrate on apparel and tournament branding to grow not only the events, company but also event experience for customers, families and staff. This internship role will be the lead for our merchandise inventory, sales, designs and ordering with administration as well. Interns will help grow our social media platforms through a consistent business marketing strategy. Our social media platforms already have over 30,000 followers! (See below for further details.)

The Statistician and Analytics Intern and its related duties, are an outstanding and opportune way for students pursuing a career in statistics and analytics to learn new skills and gain the practical experience needed through this position to help jump start their career. Those who are selected into this internship are given a unique and front line perspective into the acquisition and organization of statistics and analytics through us hosting some of the largest youth baseball and softball tournaments in the Northeast!
This program is ideal for students who are interested in Statistics and Analytics especially in the Sports field. Interns selected receive compensation and free hotel accommodations during the course of their internship. (See below for further details.)
This position will consist of assisting the Director of Events and aiding in the operational and logistical tasks during our tournaments, player showcases and team scout days. These tasks include testing, collecting, analyzing and sorting data at our events. The intern will also assist in the continuous tracking of this data and associated metrics throughout their term.
In this position, interns will gain valuable insight into what it takes to fulfill the operational and logistical needs of our company and other similar sports events businesses who collect and analyze statistics. They will also get a variety of experience in collecting objective and related data, deciding on what metrics to apply to our sport and how much time this takes.

● A field of study in Statistics or Statistical related majors, Sports Management, Mathematics or Computer Science
● A strong knowledge of baseball/softball

● A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from events and fields
● Self starter in the morning and ability to manage your time independently throughout the day.

Responsibilities Include:
● Assist the Director of Events and aid in the operational and logistical tasks during our tournaments, player showcases, team scout days.

● Become familiar and set up Trackman at our events and use this technology to collect data and metrics from players.

Over the summer, Firecracker Sports hosts amateur baseball and softball tournaments in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Our mission is to provide a multitude of opportunities and avenues for youth players to develop, grow and reach their goals.
The Digital Content Intern will aid in increasing brand awareness through digital video and photo productions, to better highlight the Firecracker Sports company. Individuals should have an interest in sports video production or social media and a general understanding of the games of baseball and/or softball.
Interns will gain valuable experience in working with Mirrorless/DSLR Camera(s) and camcorders, learning audio and lighting techniques, using Adobe Creative Suite programs; Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, etc. and share their own creations with us of original content for our brand. Interns will also be taught on how to grow social media platforms. Our social media platforms already have over 35,000 followers!

● Provide photography services; Action, headshot, team shots when needed
● Introduce new video products such as Personal Testimonies, staff interviews outside partnership highlights, Inside Firecracker Sports, etc.
● Work closely with the Digital Content Producer to capture content that aligns with and highlights the broader Firecracker Sports marketing strategies/philosophies
● Edit small projects for Firecracker Sports Social platforms; YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, etc.

Paid Summer Internship – Merchandise Sales Internship with Firecracker Sports
About this Job:
Our Merchandise Sales specialists are students who are majoring in Sports Marketing and have a passion for business to business sales. You will assist us by selling and marketing our products and merchandise through social media channels and by directly selling to consumers at our events.
As a sales and marketing intern, you will represent Firecracker Sports to market and sell our products and services to our patrons during our events. Your duties will include setting up and breaking down a display tent with merchandise at various locations at each event. You will control and track inventory. You will handle cash and electronic transactions.

Requirements Include:
● Ability to manage your time and independently.
● Have a friendly disposition with good communication skills.
● Be comfortable selling products directly to consumers.
● Applicants are required to have a field of study in marketing, event management and/or customer service with a passion for sports.
● Interns are required to stay overnight at events
● Interns are required to have their own reliable means of transportation to and during the events.
● Applicants must have a valid license and have a reliable automobile for travel to and from events.
● Interns must be available for all games and events for their term.
● Interns report to the field one hour before the game/event, and remain until all post game duties are fulfilled.

● Physical tasks to properly set-up and break-down merchandise tents at events
● Inventory monitoring, keeping and reporting
● Work with Game Day Operators to handle on site sales along with pre-orders, event sales and post-event sales/shipping.

● Work with the Digital Media team to connect the online shop, social media accounts along with inventory for promotions, sales and customer engagement.
