Boomer's Scout Book (Posted October 31)

Program: Brooklyn Bonnies (NY)
Date: Saturday, October 18th 2025 12PM-3PM
Location: Brooklyn, NY
College Coaches Present: 4

Total Players: 25

To wrap up the fall season, Firecracker Sports traveled to American Legion Field in Brooklyn, NY to host a scout day with the Brooklyn Bonnies. Lots of talent was on display, as 25 athletes from the classes of 2027 to 2029 joined us to showcase their abilities and grow as a player. Huge thank you to the coaches for coming out to help the players, and American Legion for allowing us to host the event.

These lists were very hard to make as numerous players stood out from the hitting and pitching sides of the game. Many deserve to be on these lists, so do not be discouraged if you do not see your name. We have started our road to Fire55 and Jr.Fire55 next August 2026, so keep working hard and players will get invited based on our metric leaderboards. The Brooklyn Bonnies Team Scout day is a great event every year where the players and coaches bring a lot of energy. The players’ love for the game truly comes through on the field. With that being said the following are the best performances from this past event.

Top Position Players

  1. Wade Margolies (2027 SS/2B)
    • Smaller stature, but has a solid build. Athletic player that moves very well in the field and at the plate. Feet, glove, and arm actions are all smooth in the infield. Very good arm strength, would be able to play anywhere in the infield. Aggressive swing, but long. Stays up the middle to pull side. Lots of hand movement during load, sometimes putting him in a bad hitting position at times. Looks to hit the ball out in front, but sometimes ends up hitting out on his front foot. Very projectable player that can play at the next level.
  2. Nick Garcia (2027 2B/3B)
    • Smooth actions in the field with a good arm. Glove and arm actions are short and efficient. Athletic build that shows in the field and at the plate. Excellent swing with power to all fields. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Hands are quick and direct to the ball. Slight uppercut, looking to lift the ball, Gets in trouble trying to over swing. Great follow, overall very solid player.
  3. Adoni Frances (2026 SS/OF)
    • Extremely athletic and diverse player. Good footwork approaching the ball and has a live arm. Throws the ball on a line and on target. Just as athletic and smooth in the infield. LHH swing is level, but a little long. Still has good bat speed to make up for it. RHH swing is shorter and overall better. Uses the lower half well from both sides.

Top Pitchers

  1. Penn Jurgensen (2027 RHP)
    • RHP with good size and room to fill out. Loose over the top release. Quick arm action results in good FB. Offspeed and breaking ball plays off FB very well. Projectable arm at the next level.
  2. Jaiden Collins (2027 RHP/3B)
    • FB and SL play off each other very well. Fastball has very good arm side run. Slider breaks horizontally. Consistent release point on both pitches makes it difficult to pick up. Could be tipping the pitch, however, as he gets considerably more extension down the mound on his fastball. In the field, has decent arm strength. Footwork needs to improve. Gets handcuffed on almost every ground ball, needs to see the ball out in front of the body more. Improving foot work could help with this, putting himself in a better position to field the ball. At the plate, dives onto front foot, but stays compact through the swing. Has a solid build with plenty of room to improve.
  3. Samil Garcia (2027 RHP/MIF)
    • FB/SL mix with good differences between the two. Fastball plays in the lower 80s with lots of ride. SL has slight inconsistencies. Sometimes it is more vertical breaking, and sometimes there is almost no vertical break. Both versions are sharp. Drops down to a lower slot when throwing the SL, tipping the pitch. In the field, he is athletic and twitchy with a plus arm. Throws on a line. Good footwork in the infield, and has smooth actions all the way around. Tends to pull head out during the swing. Good load, uses lower half aggressively. Better sequencing in the swing will lead to more consistency. Hands go before his hips, making him less adjustable. Athletic enough to make the adjustments and play at the next level.

Top Players To Look Out For

  1. Innes Gonzalez (2027 P/OF)
    • Athletic build, but play does not translate to it. Slow to release the ball in the outfield. Solid arm strength, but still could improve. At the plate, the lower half is very stiff. Rotational hitter, but only uses upper half. Hands get through the zone, but does not extend through the ball. Good power despite not using legs. Very good base of size and athleticism, just needs to learn how to move more efficiently, quickly, and with urgency in the field and during the swing. Interesting follow.
  2. Charlie Rattenbury (2026 C/OF)
    • Durable bodied catcher with a good arm. Still has room to fill out. Arm strength could still improve. Needs to work through the throw more, releasing the ball in front of the plate. Slow release in the outfield, needs to use legs more  when throwing. Below average power for size. Swing is stiff. With more fluid movements and athleticism, will be a very good follow.
  3. Wade Middleton (2026 RHP)
    • Big frame with plenty of room to fill out. Needs to be stronger and more athletic. Clean mechanics, but could move down the mound faster. Part of becoming more athletic. Should have better velocity and extension with his size. Interesting follow that has plenty of room to fill out and improve.
