Evaluation

June 2025: Riley showed well as a two-way player with a smooth load and good direction in the box. He demonstrated the ability to hit for contact with occasional gap power. He is not a pure power hitter right now, but with added functional strength and refinement, more pop will likely come. On the mound, Riley has long levers and a projectable frame that could allow for a jump in velocity with more lower-half engagement and added strength. His delivery has room to become more explosive, but the raw ingredients are there. Overall, Riley brings a lot of projection, With continued physical development and a focused approach, he has the tools to make big strides on both sides of the ball. August 2025: Great swing. Quick bat and elevated well. Gap power. Good arm strength. On ground balls, work on getting whole body lower to better be able to adjust to bad hops, instead of just reaching with hands for the ball.
