2021 Team Scout Day: Yorktown Rebels
Sunday February 28th, 2021
Tim Lombardi | Firecracker Sports Director of Player Development
Location: Athletes Warehouse
Graduation Years: 2021 – 2023
Coach: John Campobasso – johncampo09@gmail.com
We thank John and the Yorktown Rebels for having us come to Athletes Warehouse and participating in Firecracker Sports 2021 Team Scout Day. Athletes that attended were between the graduation years of 2021 to 2023, measuring their skills through the state of the art Rapsodo hitting and pitching machines. The day started with hitting in the Athlete’s Warehouse three cage setup on the second floor where all 14 players took swings. After the hitting data was completed, we moved downstairs to the facilities open area where players can throw and get any fielding in as well. Yorktown had eight total throwers with 3 averaging well above 80 MPH. Any coaches looking for video on each player can contact our Director of Player Development, Tim Lombardi at tlombardi@firecrackersports.com. The conclusion of the event was handled by Athletes Warehouse’s Stephen Portee, taking the athletes through a cool down post event.

Top Pitching Leaders on the Day:
Matthew Alduino – P|OF – RHB – LHP – 5’11” – 160 LBS – 2022
At 5’11”, the Left handed pitcher had an impressive showing, peaking at 87 mph. ¾ slot forced armside run. Inconsistency around the plate and Lengthy frame with room to fill out leaves a ton of upside potential.
Russell Hunter – P|3B – RHB – RHP – 6’0 – 195 LBS – 2022
FB: 87 peak 85 AVG CB: 68 AVG – CH: 75 AVG
Hunter produced today at 87 mph with very raw mechanics that make great use of his frame. One of his strongest off speed pitches is his change, averaging at 75 mph, resulting from same arm speed and down and away movement.
Brendan Keneally – P|2B – RHP – RHB – 2022
FB: 83 peak 82 AVG CB: 68 AVG CH: 75 avg
Top Hitting Leaders on the Day:
Adam Agresti – C/1B – RHB – 2023
Adam Agresti, the 6’2” 205 IB 2023 Catcher for the Yorktown Rebels presented a powerful swing by really driving the hips through. During his session, higher velocities resulted in pull side pop. A good pickup for D1 St Johns out of New York.
Exit Velocity: 93 peak 82 avg distance: 253 avgdevaney
Russell Hunter – RHB – RHP – 2022
Exit velo: 92 peak 82 Avg
At 6’0, 195 LBS, Hunter has a solid build of a player that was proven by a 92 peak exit velocity. Short to the ball, Hunter’s quick hands allowed him to catch up to inside pitches in a practice environment. With a few tweaks, his exit velocity and max distance will improve with the right team.
Ryan Devaney – RHB – RHP – 2022
Exit Velo: 91 peak 77 avg
Ryan Devaney comes in third with a very high ceiling, the 6’5” 1B/OF topped out at 91 MPH. Without much lower body usage, Devaney can easily add to his swing by taking advantage of his legs while adding healthy mass.
Dalton Burns – 1B/OF – 2021
Exit Velo: 90 peak 82 avg
Burns peppered the ball all around the cage, with a high average of 82 mph, he has a swing that is very repeatable. Great upper half action leaves room for Dalton to use his legs and add on to both his average, and peak of 90 mph.
Nick Jacoby – SS – 2022
Exit Velo: 90 Peak 78 avg
At 5’10”, Jacoby’s hip to shoulder separation was proven in his peak, along with his powerful swing is also inconsistent resulting in his 78 mph average. With the right weight room workout and slight tweak in mechanics, the 2022 shortstop is looking like a great pick up for college coaches.
