We want to thank Coach Derek Calabro for having us come out to Johnston for a testing day on Rapsodo pitching and hitting devices located at the Johnston Indoor Recreational Center. On the day, there were 23 total athletes between 14u and 16u that resulted in 7 pitchers. The talented group of athletes ranged between graduation years of 2023- 2025. We tested the athletes on a large half of a gymnasium that had drop down cages. You can find the results of the day on our website here.

Top Pitching Leaders on the Day:

Paige Quaglia – 2024 – LHP | 1B | OF

The Left handed pitcher for the RI Rockets led the day in peak pitching velocity with 50 mph while averaging 48 mph while hitting the corners with ease. Quaglia’s change up had a lot of vertical drop while staying at 34 mph.

Kayla-Jo Macchio – 2024 – RHP | C | 3B

The 2024 grad for the RI Rockets produces powerful mechanics that get her down the mound while reaching a fastball peak of 46 mph and maintaining an average of 45 mph. Macchio’s repoitoire also consists of curveball at 47 mph with great depth, changeup of 42 mph and an impressive drop ball clocked at 45 mph.

Madison Blanchette – 2025 – RHP | C | 2B | OF

Blanchette’s movement on the mound is raw but also produces a peak fastball velocity of 46 mph and an average of 44 mph. The 2025’s grad’s changeup was clocked at 34 mph with movement but inconsistent spotting of the pitch.

Talia Petit – 2024 – RHP | 2B | SS | 3B | OF

Talia made the top 5 with a peak fastball velocity of 39 mph and an average of 38 mph. With the creation of more repeatable mechanics and power, her velocities will increase with ease.

Top Hitting Leaders on the Day:

Jenna Malloy – 2024 – 1B | 2B | 3B

With the high velocity production and raw mechanics produced by Jenna, the ceiling is very high for the 2024 grad. Playing around the diamond at 1B, 2B, and 3B, Malloy produced velocities of 66 mph while averaging 59 mph. Her average distance on a batted ball consisted of 96 mph.

Madison Blanchette – 2025 – P | C | 2B | OF

Coming in at second, Madison produced a peak velocity of 66 mph with minimal leg involvement, which shows there’s much more power left on the table. Graduating in 2025, she also averages 57 mph with a launch angle of 4.4 degrees, showing the high production of line drives.

Janeliz Rivera – 2024 – C | Of

Janeliz produced a solid swing that reached a peak exit velocity of 64 mph while averaging 49 mph. The 2024 grad’s consistent swing allows for a launch angle of 1.1 degrees that either needs to find gaps or become elevated.

Paige Quaglia – 2024 – P | 1B | OF

Quaglia produced a peak exit velocity of 60 mph with a very raw swing that had a lack of legs involved. The 2024 graduate also held an average of 51 mph and an average distance of 49 Ft because of the low launch angle. There is a high ceiling for Quaglia as she matures going forward.

Chavonne Zednik – 2025 – 3B

Zednik has a very upper body dominated swing producing a peak velocity of 59 mph while averaging 49 mph. She also averaged a distance of 37 ft because of a low launch angle of -3.8 degrees.
