There is no better feeling than a late February day filled with sunshine. The smell of spring hints toward the beginning of a new baseball season…

My name is Jack Cote and I have recently been hired as the Director of Digital Content for Firecracker Sports. I look forward to producing videos and writing a weekly newsletter, shining light on player highlights, recruiting and Firecracker Sports company news. 

The memories created on the diamond at our showcase baseball tournaments will now be captured, documented, and celebrated. The special moments will hit social media showcasing the love of the game we all share, but what makes a special moment an everlasting moment? A path. A college coach’s eyes. An opportunity.

Over the last decade the world has changed and developed into a mass media platform where a fairly common 17 second video of your clumsy but comedic four-year-old dancing can be seen by millions of people, but for aspiring ballplayers there’s no guarantee.  No guarantee your at bats and fielding gems will reach the right audience. But if your videos stand out – if they tell a story and capture an audience with sound and music and imagery – they can stand out and bring your game to life.  They can get the attention of college coaches and scouts.  

In January, Firecracker Sports held Team Scout Days for Sluggers Fury and Coastal Riptide, which had the attendance of numerous college coaches. As an organization, we hope to do more showcases for programs hoping to get the exposure they need for their ball players. 

Recently, Firecracker Sports partnered with USA Baseball to create a path for players to reach Team USA tryouts and possible future opportunities. The first showcase took place this week on Monday, with many more to come, so be on the lookout for all future events. All details will be located on our website. 

For future tournament updates, War at Williamsburg will take place from July 6th-9th and still has team spots available. The All American Summer Classic at Old Orchard Beach from July 28th-30th also has available spots remaining. If you have never taken a family vacation to Old Orchard Beach, I highly recommend it.
